When we start our job at a wedding, we always pray for expressive people and funny moments. In addition, if they make us laugh, our work is smooth sailing.

It’s commonly known that laughter has a therapeutic power and that it provides benefits over our body and mind. As Lord Byron said: “Always laugh when you can. It is cheap medicine.”. Prajakta, who is probably one of the funniest brides we have ever met, trully knew the meaning of her vows when she promised Sebastiaan she would make him laugh every day of his life. Five times a day, at least. And we are pretty sure that she will…

If this is the main attitude of the couple, our work becomes a bed of roses. So, what else could I ask for as a destination wedding photographer? If we can choose, we would like to have a group of varied people willing to have fun, a beautiful scenario, funny and touching speeches, good weather… Well, it seems that this time our whishes came true: super funny people from more than 10 different countries, Itxasbide for the venue, lectures that made us laugh, crazy dances…

Prajakta started to get ready in a suite at the hotel San Sebastian, surrounded by her closest relatives and friends. A couple of rooms beyond was Sebastiaan with his groomsmen. Interchanges of gifts, some champagne, lots of hugs, improvised dances… the day promised to be fantastic.

The ceremony at Itxasbide was short but full of very touching and funny lectures from Prajakta’s and Sebastiaan’s fathers and the bride and the groom themselves. After a brief portrait session during the cocktail, the dinner started. After all the courses, the meal finished with speeches of everyone who wanted to say something to the newlyweds, what demonstrated how many and how good this couple’s friends were. It was the perfect starting signal for a party where we had from Bollywood styled surprise dances until cutting of the cake flooded by confetti.

When we start our job, like this destination wedding at Finca Itxasbide, we always pray for expressive people and funny moments. In addition, if they make us laugh and we can share our work time with fellows like the film maker Aitor Apezteguia and the wedding planner Laura Satué, as it happened this time, our work is smooth sailing.
